Explore 29 New Game Cards from Magic's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Set (Featuring a Commander-Style Precon Deck!)

The world's beloved pizza-eating superheroes are making their way to the popular trading card game. The well-known TCG's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, unveiled a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion at a special event held at New York Comic Con. Is this a radical addition or yet another crossover cash grab? We'll let you be the judge.

Take a look below at everything announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, along with key background. Everything mentioned below releases on March 6th, 2026, with one exception — the Pizza Bundle arrives a few weeks later on March 27th.

MTG x TMNT: Main Set Cards

Before diving into all the various special decks and bundles available, we’ll examine at all the cards from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by the developers. Standard booster packs for the set are set at $6.99 per pack, while premium boosters should run $37.99 per pack.

Let's unpack a couple of shell-shocking features. First, there's a new mechanic named Sneak Attack, which is a riff on the pre-existing Ninjutsu, in which gamers can play big creatures into the battlefield when an attacker goes unblocked. The key change in this case is that this new ability can affect spells that aren’t creatures as well. The designers also took the opportunity to clean up the ability a bit (It counts as casting, unlike Ninjutsu). The original ability isn't going away, but it's more likely players will encounter the new mechanic in future sets moving forward.

Should we go back to the Kamigawa plane, it’s possible we’d use Ninjutsu since that's where it originated and it’s a hallmark of that world,” a senior designer stated. “However in other settings, since the mechanics are smoother and Sneak is what's going to be in standard, it’s probable we’ll use Sneak.”

That second variant of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is one of four special cards with special art created specifically for the expansion by TMNT original artist the co-creator.

Additionally, should you be surprised by the rules text on Turtles Forever, which lets you play game cards that aren't in your main deck, many players were. Yet according to Wizards, it’s now a legal card in every format of Magic.

In any case, below are the extremely bizarre full-art lands from the TMNT set:

As per the company’s current policy, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. The designers state they took care to make sure the cards and mechanics worked smoothly with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the design for over a year and we were aware it was going to be in standard and which sets were going to be alongside it in Standard,” the designer says. “We designed to make sure that there's synergy with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”

For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a Izzet strategy built around artifact cards.

“They mesh together to offer the pieces for a fun Standard-legal deck,” he added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

After declining to design any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it does come with six different legendary cards that can serve as your Commander depending on how you combine them (five of the cards include a unique partner ability named “Character Select” that allows starting with two commanders in the command area instead of only one). Check them out below:

The Turtle Power precon is priced at $69.99, though that could easily go up due to popularity. Wizards indicated that it includes 43 new cards altogether, which translates to an additional thirty-seven Turtle-themed cards in addition to the six legendary creatures shown earlier. (Calculating roughly, this suggests approximately 20 reprints if we estimate the deck comes with 37 lands.)

What will the Turtles edition of the iconic Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and see.

TMNT Bundle (Standard Edition)

As per usual, the company is offering a collection. It costs $69.99 and includes the following:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • Fifteen Traditional foil basic lands
  • 15 Non-foil land cards
  • Two Reference cards
  • 1 Traditional foil promotional card
  • 1 Large life tracker
  • One storage box

Pizza Bundle

This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it comes in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Every pizza-themed bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the items below:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • 1 Collector Booster
  • 25 Regular pizza-themed lands
  • 5 Traditional foil pizza basic lands
  • 2 Foil pizza bundle promotional cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • 1 Large life tracker
  • 1 Card-storage box

If you’re wondering about the “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s essentially a reprint of an older card featuring all-new Turtle-themed art. Wizards showed one for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter adding toppings onto a pizza slice. In total, there are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards available.

This special bundle releases a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This unique product is designed for a four-player draft and is priced at $119.99. That will get you:

  • Twelve Standard Boosters (ideal for a group of four to play draft)
  • 1 Premium Booster (also known as, the prize for coming in first)
  • 90 Non-foil basic lands (to build your deck)
  • 10 Non-foil token cards
  • 1 Draft insert (a single-page guide to drafting this expansion)

Cooperative Play Set

Lastly, the developers are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its ongoing effort to develop Magic products specifically for beginners. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of prebuilt decks that allow two players join forces to face a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.

The concept is that each Boss card grants special abilities to the creatures contained in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically plays one other card each turn, and you’ll start off fighting {one Boss|
